Main Observatory
TRO's first observatory has been in successful operation for over 3 years. Resident imagers have been
running daily automated imaging sessions with excellent results. One of the early challenges was internet access in such a remote location.
The switch over to StarLink satellite service was a major success. Latency and bandwidth improvements were amazing when compared to
low earth satellite links. There has been virtually no internet congestion or dropped sessions. Daily remote desktop sessions have been effortless.
** At the current time we are fully leased in our main observatory building 1, but you may be place your name and information on a waiting list. **
New 12 pier Observatory in 2024!
Because of the success of TRO's first remote observatory, a new 12 pier custom observatory will be built in 2024.
We anticipate construction to start soon. This will bring new opportunities for imagers. We anticipate pier space will
become limited quickly as word gets out.

Remote Hosting at TRO
Typically TRO only leases pier space. Most of our clients are long term and supply their own equipment from the pier up. Due to the observatory's close proximity to the Dallas Ft. Worth MetroPlex, local clients generally perform their own maintenance. This helps minimize monthly lease charges. Site services are limited. Some periodic services are available such as installation and maintenance, but they are limited. Each pier has power and high speed Starlink internet service provided.
DFW MetroPlex
The DFW Metroplex is a world class destination. DFW International Airport has service to anyplace in the world. Some of the darkest skies in the United States are only a pleasant 3 1/2 hour drive though some of the most iconic Texas ranchlands.
